RAILWAY'S WATERGATE!
Despite being an integral part at the railway stations in Mumbai, the city's railway stations lack proper steady water supply, with the drinking water taps extremely unclean and some not working property. Some of these drinking water ledges at Thakurli and other stations are used as a trashcan. At some stations in the city, most of the drinking water taps lack the supply of water as well, leading the commuters to use it as a dustbin. The drinking water taps which are dirty and are not regularly cleaned, are cause water borne diseases and other illness as well. While commuters complain about the unclean and unhygienic drinking taps at the railway stations, it is alleged that the commuters are responsible for the uncleanliness. The commuters spit into the ledges at almost all the stations in the city, making it dirty and unhygienic.
The Afternoon Despatch & Courier photographers – Trupti Arekar and Santosh Gupta visited all stations capturing the unhygienic drinking facilities.
