Mumbai bids adieu to Lord Ganesh its favourite deity!
The 11-day long Ganesh festival which is one of the best-loved festivals of Maharashtra, especially Mumbai, concluded yesterday on the day of 'Anant Chaturdashi' with the immersion of the mighty idol of Lalbaugcha Raja at the Girgaum Chowpatty amidst lakhs of devotees joining in the immersion procession.
The processions carrying idols of Lord Ganesha started from the morning, with colourful idols on wheels winding their way towards the seafront, rivers and makeshift ponds in the city and its suburbs. The devotees engrossed in dancing to the 'Dhol Taasha' (drum beats), cheered each other and bid adieu to the elephant god. Lakhs of people visited the seafront, including the Girgaum Chowpatty to get a glimpse of the idols.

ADC Photographers Trupti Arekar and Santosh Gupta capture the exciting moments of devotees bidding farewell to Ganesha at various places in the city.
