Migratory birds take flight in Thane sky!
The sight of Thane creek is something to behold, as early mornings come alive with the sweet chirpings of various birds. This is the season when migratory birds take shelter at the Thane creek, small ponds and grasslands making the place a birder's paradise. One can get a glimpse of big flocks of flamingoes taking flight in the sky in the entire stretch from Thane to Airoli bridge and even across the Bhandup pumping station. Birds like Painted Storks, Spoonbills, Amur Falcon, Elusive Indian Skimmer, Thermal Kites, Greenish Wobblers and many other migratory birds visit Thane creek during this season. ADC photographer Shyam Iyer gives an eye-opener to the vast biodiversity on the tidal flats along the Thane creek.
