Meet the Dashavatar!
Artists at Jogeshwwari's Shyam Nagar Talao are busy dressing up for their play based on Dashavatar which refers to the ten avatars of Vishnu, the Universal god of preservation. Vishnu is said to descend in the form of an avatar to restore cosmic order.

The 20-member all male team of 'Chendvankar Gore Dashavatar Natya Mandal' based in Kudal in the Konkan region has been enthralling audiences in the city with its 800-year-old script. The male artists in the team also assume roles of female characters in the play. According to Nanadkumar Gore – the director of the group, artists in this play are all breadwinners for their family and keeping wandering with the group from one city to the other.

The Afternoon Despatch & Courier Photographer Trupti Arekar captures the behind the scene moments of these artists.

Aries (Mar 21 - Apr 20)While work seems to be under control with great possibilities of further improvement the problem seems to be the home front. Developments in family create an air of uncertainty. Elders and youngsters alike may turn to you to find a solution. You have to be impartial considering that you do not approve of the conduct of one of your relatives. Your beloved may also feel a bit low and neglected.
