Full dress for the Republic!
It takes a uniform to rivet the eye and the dress reheasals for the Republic Day Parade at Shivaji Park over the past few days has only proved this adage. Expect pomp and panoply as the Governor Ch Vidyasagar Rao will take the salute, and battalions of cadets, Home Guards, the police, et al, will march or ide past the dais. No-one does a parade quite like our country, and the march in New Delhi along historic Rajpath still draws hundreds of thousands to the spot in person and millions of eyeballs on television. In Mumbai, we must make do with Shivaji Park and our own version, and there is little to complain about, judging from the crowds that have been turning up to watch the rehearsals.
Azad Shrivastav captures the moments of this uniformed men and women in parade in their impressive action at the Shivaji Park.
