Cashless wave in kites
Makar Sankranti, which falls on January 14 every year marks the sun’s transition into the zodiac of Capricorn. On this day winter officially ends and spring begins. The festival is celebrated across India with different names. On this day kite flying competitions are held at various places and this year innovative Indians have highlighted demonetisation, Modi, new currency notes among various other colours and combinations. The main reason for this festival is to get people out of the house and receive the wholesome benefits of exposure to the Sun. Our ace photographers Trupti Arekar and Azad Shrivastav, visited various shops in Mumbai to capture the mood of the festival.
