Car rams into men doing yoga, kills six
Jaipur:
A speeding car rammed into a group of people doing yoga by the roadside in Rajasthan's Bharatpur district yesterday morning, killing six men, police said. The accident occurred on Kumher-Dhanwada state highway early morning when the car driver lost control over the vehicle. The group was taking a morning walk and stopped on the way for a yoga session, SHO Kumher police station Raghbeer Singh said.

Biriyani from Kerala jail goes online
Thrissur(Ker):
Seeking to tap the hugely popular online food market, prison authorites in Kerala yesterday began offering piping hot biriyani prepared by jail inmates. In the first phase, the plan is to sell biriyani combo online, priced at Rs 127. The combo, which was specifically designed for online sale, includes 300 grams of biriyani rice, one roasted chicken leg piece, three chappathis, a cup cake, salad, pickle and one litre bottled water along with a plantain leaf to eat the food, authorities at the Viyyur central jail, where it is being prepared.

Harassed by former MLA's sons, man ends life in UP
Muzaffarnagar (UP):
A 32-year-old man committed suicide here by jumping in front of a train allegedly after being harassed by two sons of a former Uttar Pradesh lawmaker, police said yesterday. Rajesh Singh took the extreme step on Wednesday evening allegedly after being harassed by two jewellers -- Sanjay Swaroop Bansal and Ashutosh Bansal -- who are sons of former MLA from Muzaffarnagar, Vishnu Swaroop, police said.

Tahsildar held in bribery case; cash, gold seized
Hyderabad::
A tahsildar was yesterday arrested in connection with a case of bribery after Rs 93.5 lakh in cash and over 400 gm of gold were seized from her house,a senior official of the anti-corruption bureau (ACB) said. On Wednesday, sleuths conducted a search at the office and residence of the Tahsildar of Keshampet mandal V Lavanya in neighbouring Ranga Reddy district.

Woman shot at by bike-borne assailants in Delhi
New Delhi:
A 30-year-old woman was shot at allegedly by two unidentified bike-borne assailants near a hotel in Dwarka Sector 12 yesterday morning, police said.
The victim has been identified as Kiren. She is a housewife and a part-time property dealer, they said.

Over 900 kg of ganja seized; two arrested
Hyderabad::
Over 900 kg of cannabis, also known as ganja, worth Rs 1.92 crore in the grey market has been seized and two persons have been arrested in this connection, directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI) said yesterday. The seizure and the arrests were made in Siddipet district of Telangana early Wednesday.

Woman killed for dowry in Muzaffarnagar
Muzaffarnagar (UP):
A 21-year-old woman was allegedly strangled to death by her in-laws over dowry in Uttar Pradesh's Muzaffarnagar district, police said yesterday. The woman was found dead at the house of her in-laws in Tisang village under Jansath Police Station on Wednesday, Circle Officer (CO) SN Negi said. A complaint was lodged against seven people and four of them were arrested the same day, the CO said.
