A 23-year-old woman was allegedly abducted and raped by two men here last month, police said yesterday, adding that the accused had also recorded a video of their act and uploaded it on the social media. A case in this connection was lodged only on Sunday, the police said, adding that the accused were arrested.

Bomb attack on Shillong BJP office
Unidentified men lobbed a molotov cocktail at a BJP office here partially damaging it, a police officer said yesterday. No casualty was reported in the explosion. The office was attacked before Tuesday's proposed North East bandh called by the North East Students Organisation, an umbrella organisation of students' bodies of the region, in protest against the prime minister's announcement to pass the Citizenship Bill.

Constitution doesn't permit reservation on economic grounds: AIMIM chief
AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi Monday said the Constitution doesnt permit reservations on economic grounds. Reacting to reports that the Union Cabinet has approved 10 per cent reservation in jobs and educational institutions for the economically backward section in the general category, Owaisi said reservations are to correct historical injustice to Dalits.
