Self-styled Hisar godman, 26 followers held guilty in two murder cases
Hisar (Haryana):
Self-styled godman Rampal of Hisar's Satlok Ashram and 26 of his followers were convicted Thursday by a sessions court here in two separate cases of murder and other offences. Hisar Additional District and Sessions Judge D R Chaliya held godman Rampal and his followers guilty of two murders and other offences, including wrongful confinement of his victims at his hermitage. ASJ Chaliya pronounced his judgement after nearly a four-year-long trial of the 27 accused in a makeshift court inside the Hisar district jail, where 67-year-old Rampal and his followers have been lodged since their arrest in November 2014.

Terror suspect in Bengaluru blasts held in Kerala’s Kannur
Bengaluru:
A suspect in the 2008 Bengaluru serial blasts, who has been evading arrest all these years, has been arrested from a forest in Kannur district of Kerala, police said Thursday. He has been identified as Salim (42), a suspected Indian Mujahideen operative, they said. “Only thing we can say right now is that we have kept (detained) one person from Kerala and he has been produced before the court. Thereafter we are requesting police custody to question him,” Additional Commissioner of Police (Crime) Alok Kumar told PTI.

Man arrested by Delhi Police for theft not our employee: Google
New Delhi:
Technology giant Google said on Thursday that it has no employee in the name of Garvit Sahni, who was arrested by Delhi Police for allegedly stealing money to meet his girlfriend's expenses. The 24-year-old man was arrested on Wednesday for allegedly stealing Rs 10,000 from the handbag of a woman at a five-star hotel in Lutyens' Delhi last month. After arresting him, police had said that Sahni worked as an executive at Google. However, Google has denied any association with him.

Man held with country-made pistol in Delhi Metro station
New Delhi:
A 32-year-old man was apprehended by the CISF at a Delhi Metro station for allegedly carrying a country-made pistol in his bag, officials said Thursday. S Yadav, a resident of Madhubani district in Bihar, was apprehended at the Dilshad Garden metro station late Wednesday after the X-ray baggage scanner detected the weapon inside his bag, they said. The man was handed over to local police by the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) personnel for further investigation, officials said.
