Internet enabling extremists to spread their ideology at faster pace: UK minister
Baroness Williams, the UK's Minister of State for Countering Extremism, today said the world faced unprecedent threat from extremists and that the Internet was enabling them to spread their ideologies and gave them access into every family. Britain will "act decisively" to disrupt extremist activity where its legal thresholds are broken and where individuals cross the line by inciting hatred or violence, she said. She, however, noted that the UK did not consider extremism and terrorism as the same thing.

1,100 more CISF personnel deployed for security upgrade of 10 airports
Over 1,100 CISF personnel have been additionally deployed at 10 select airports in the country as part of bolstering their anti-terror security grid and upgrading of manpower for better passenger services, a senior official said today. As per records accessed by PTI, 10 civil airports in the cities of Chennai, Patna, Bagdogra, Trivandrum, Vishakhapatnam, Jaipur, Goa, Aurangabad, Hyderabad and Madurai have been provided with a total 0f 1,172 additional CISF personnel over the last few months. "The fresh manpower, over the existing security deployment, has been made as these airports are witnessing growing passenger traffic and increase in the number of flights.

MA launches awareness drive on sexual health
The Indian Medical Association (IMA) has launched a nationwide movement to eradicate the social taboo associated with sexual health. Dr Ravi Wankhedkar, the IMA national president, stressed the importance of the initiative and said that sex still being a taboo, doctors across India needed to break all the barriers and clinical inertias. This is the first-of-its-kind initiative launched by the IMA for over three-and-a-half lakh doctors to motivate them to dispel the taboo associated with this subject. Education must be imparted at school to dispel the taboo associated with this subject. Increasing awareness among schools and colleges by various means will also be a part of this agenda.

J-K: Two cops killed in gunfight with militants
Two policemen guarding the court complex in Jammu and Kashmir's Pulwama district were killed today in a militant attack. The militants opened fire at the police picket guarding the district court complex in Pulwama town in the early hours,  a police spokesman said.  He said the cops retaliated the firing.
