SC/ST Act, reservation to stay till BJP is in power: Shah
BJP chief Amit Shah asserted today that the SC/ST Act and the reservation system in jobs will remain in force till the party-led government is in power. He said the election season would kick in soon and the Congress would use the opportunity to spread "lies" about the Narendra Modi government. The main opposition party will "mislead" people by saying the NDA government will scrap the Scheduled Caste/ Scheduled Tribes (Prevention of Atrocities) Act and the system of reservation in government jobs and education for the deprived sections of the society, Shah added.

Saxena appointed acting UPSC chief
UPSC member Arvind Saxena has been appointed as the acting Chairman of the commission from June 20, a government order said. Saxena, a 1978-batch Indian Postal Service officer, will take over the charge from incumbent Vinay Mittal who completes his term at the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) on June 19. A latest government order said Saxena will "perform the duties of the post of Chairman, UPSC" with effect from June 20 till further orders or till completion of his tenure on August 7, 2020.

Air Asia PMLA case: ED collects FDI approval documents
Widening its probe into the Air Asia money laundering case, the Enforcement Directorate (ED) has collected documents from the Commerce and Industry Ministry related to FDI clearances given to the airline. A senior official told PTI that a team of ED investigators picked up a number of documents last week from the Department of Industrial Policy and Promotion (DIPP) as part of this investigation. The DIPP is an arm of the Commerce and Industry Ministry and it deals with rules and norms pertaining to foreign direct investment (FDI).

Army foils infiltration bid, three militants killed
Three militants were killed today as the Army foiled an infiltration bid along the Line of Control (LoC) in Kupwara district of Jammu and Kashmir. An infiltration bid has been eliminated along the LoC in Karen Sector (Kupwara district), a defence spokesman said here. He said three militants attempting to infiltrate into this side of the LoC have been killed. The operation is in progress, the spokesman also said.
