Dalit woman raped in UP
Ballia:
A 30-year-old Dalit woman was allegedly raped by two men in Bansdih area of Ballia district in Uttar Pradesh, police said. The incident took place on February 7 when the victim, a dancer by profession, was introduced to a man by her programme coordinator, they said. A FIR was registered against the duo under various sections of the IPC, they added.

Rahul continues his temple run in Karnataka

Congress President Rahul Gandhi hit the temple trail for the second day of his election campaign in Karnataka yesterday. He stopped in the heart of Kanakagiri in Koppal district and visited Kanakachala Laxmi-Narasimha temple to pay obeisance to the dieties.

Mayawati attacks Shivraj Chouhan govt in MP
Lucknow:
Attacking the Shivraj Singh Chouhan government in Madhya Pradesh, BSP chief Mayawati yesterday claimed that the law and order situation in the state was very poor while rampant corruption prevailed. She also claimed that the BJP government in Madhya Pradesh had adopted an aggressive attitude towards weaker sections and Muslims.

Snowfall in high altitude areas of Himachal Pradesh
Shimla:
The high altitude areas of Himachal Pradesh received mild snowfall yesterday while strong icy winds swept the region. The Met office here has warned of heavy rains or snow at isolated places in mid and higher hills tomorrow. It has predicted rainfall and snow in the region over next six days barring February 16 as a western disturbance lies over the Himalayan region.

Four held for allegedly attempting to burgle a bank
Jaipur:
Four persons were arrested for allegedly attempting a burglary at a bank in the Gudagodji town of Rajasthan's Jhunjhunu district, police said yesterday. Of the four arrested persons, one has claimed that he was a part of the elite President's Bodyguard (PBG), they said.

Four arrested for consuming liquor in Patna
Patna:
Four youths and three students of Chanakya National Law University (CNLU), have been arrested for consuming liquor in the institute premises, police said. Acting on a tip-off, officers from Jakkanpur police station raided the institute and found all four in an inebriated condition in their hostel room.
