Art Exhibitions In The City: Awaken In The Dream

This week, feast your eyes on a vivid range of ochres, yellows and oranges painted on canvas by Artist Sachin Akalekar. With Awaken in the Dream, Sachin pays tribute to the countryside unfolding the rural stories into a visual narrative. Various elements of the nature such as animals, birds, group figures can be observed in the background of these paintings. Sachin believes that nature’s beauty and power are engraved into our lives, history and culture. “Everything in nature shows equality, independence and brotherhood. That is the reason why birds and animals are the family members here and are not ‘domestic animals’ unlike us in the concrete jungles! Slowly, unknowingly, a bond of love is formed with such ripe nature.  And it is expressed through the eyes or a delicate touch. But, still there are things that remain unexpressed and yet one feels peace, satisfaction. A sense of completeness! I have created this feeling of in-expression in various shapes, lines, colours and textures experienced this unexpressed lifestyle in my childhood,” Sachin tells us. The paintings are a breath of fresh air!
