Sanjay Nirupam, workers booked for slogans against Modi

The Borivli police have registered an FIR against former MP of the Congress party and about 40 unidentified party workers for assembling and shouting slogans against Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
On Thursday afternoon, Congress party workers under the leadership of former MP Sanjay Nirupam began protesting against Modi and shouted slogans without permission near the Vedh Bungalow at Borivli (West).
This is not the first case against Sanjay Nirupam. In 2009 a case was registered for conducting the opening ceremony of a party office in a North-Eastern suburb without permission.Senior Police Inspector (SPI) of the Borivali police station Narayan Khaire said, “We have registered an FIR under section 188 of the IPC, 37(1)/135 of the Maharashtra Police Act.”
