With state Assembly elections not more than 24 hours away, bookies have opened their final rates for the Kalina constituency where the highest number of candidates are in the poll fray. The bookies have chosen Congress candidate Kripashankar Singh as the winner for the constituency with BJP candidate Amarjit Singh as the runner-up.
According to a group of bookies, “The Kalina Constituency is a major constituency where all the big-wigs from all major political parties are in the fray like
former BEST Chairman and Shiv Sena candidate Sanjay Potnis, NCP state spokesperson Nawab Malik's younger brother Abdul Rashid (Kaptan) Malik and three-time sitting MLA and one time MLC Kripashankar Singh.”
As per this week's rate, it is 40 paisa for Kripashankar Singh which means he is in number one position in the bookies record, BJP candidate Amarjit Sinhg is second with 1.32 paisa, NCP candidate Kaptan Malik is at the third position with 1.89 paisa and Shiv Sena candidate Sanjay Potinis has 2.34 paisa.
When asked about the reason for Congress to be in the first position, they said, “Everyone knows that from the very beginning this ward has been Congress'.
But after the alliance broke up, voters have been divided and indirectly the Marathi voters in this constituency will vote for Congress.”
