Trouble for Sallu or Judicial system shame?

Friday, April 06, 2018

One feels sorry at Salman Khan's conviction in the blackbuck case where his other colleagues have been acquitted because the case has taken far too long and over 20 years is a mockery of our judicial system. Salman Khan however may not serve the sentence of two years in jail which is bailable and the actor would most probably get the sentence reversed in the higher courts. Courts in India move at a snail's pace and over two decades for any judgement dilutes the case where witnesses change statements and many even die in such a long period. The court feels that Khan had killed the blackbucks which in all probability he did. Else, difficult to foresee any law targeting a celebrity of his stature for so long in spite of his involvement in other killing cases as well. Salman Khan though has had a makeover over the years and the actor we all know does a lot for charity. Perhaps his way of asking pardon from the Almighty and we all respect him for his work, both professionally and as a changed human being. Hope, all his court cases sees a closure in the days to come and wishing Salman Khan good health and energy to do more charity through his 'Being human' brand and Trust!
