Maha twists laws post ban on liquor vends
Wednesday, April 19, 2017
Where there is a will there is a way and one is really not surprised that Mumbai gets its way on liquor joints by twisting its laws by changing the very definition of highways. Corruption rules the roost in the system and such a scenario was bound to happen in the commercial capital of the country where there is no dearth of money. However, we do have laws in our country where drunk driving is a serious crime and the mechanism to check and balance to nab the culprits should be strengthened which should take care of rising accidents on Indian roads of late.
Laws across the country should be unanimous, be it in cities or towns. Liquor is bad for health and efforts must be made to dissuade people from its consumption through education so that our country is not just accident-free but healthy as well.
