Kudos to Kohli & Co.

The acronym DRS aka Decision Review System in Cricket should be changed to Decision Reversed System keeping in mind the umpteen times the decisions taken by the on field umpires have been reversed by the third umpire. A case in point is that of umpire Kumar Dharmasena, who had 8 decisions overturned out of 16 which set a record of most reversed decisions by an umpire in a single Test. This happened in the Chittagong Test between England and Bangladesh. He has had a harrowing time in the last couple of series. Considering this I have to state that a maximum of two unsuccessful reviews that a team is offered in a span of 80 overs is not fair, particularly when the umpires are not infallible. After all they are also human beings. Thus any team should be allowed as many referrals as possible. The time limit of 15 seconds for a team to decide whether to go upstairs or not is beyond my ken. Therefore I suggest that time limit should be increased.  Any umpire should not consider it demeaning to refer any decision to the third umpire when he is not absolutely sure and certain. This would ensure fair play.

The game of cricket is a funny game and the team letting the opportunities pass will have to face defeat in the end.  Australian Team played into the hands of Indian Team despite having two star spinners and having two tearaway fast bowlers in the side.  If Pune match was a disaster for Team India, Bengaluru Test saw Team Australia in poor light and losing the royal battle after achieving a handy first innings lead.  If Jadeja pinned Australian batsmen to the crease with a six wicket haul it was Ashwin, who had his share of six scalps when victory was smelt. Despite Kohli's double failure, Rahul, Pujara and Rahane shouldered the responsibility very well to make a match of it in the end. No match is lost or won till the last ball is bowled and Team India did the trick with precision to erase Pune defeat. Even though, the winning streak was broken by the Kangaroos, we are back in the winning ways.  History was created at the Chinnaswamy Stadium as wickets tumbled on the last day and Team India made a match of it.  Kudos to Kohli's side for this incredible win.
