Is Penis an objectionable word?

Wednesday, March 07, 2018

Is 'Penis' an objectionable word. It is a part of a man's anatomy and if its an innocuous word, then why did the Star Channel group, which showed the Oscar award ceremony live on Monday morning, censor the word from the re-run show the same night? Let me spell out. When the show began, the host Jimmy Kimmel made a reference to the sexual harassment that is being discussed these days all over the world and at every award ceremony. In his opening statements, he remarked, "No question about it. Oscar is the most beloved and respected man in Hollywood. And there's a very good reason why. Just look at him. (The host points to the Oscar image at the side). Keeps his hands where you can't see them, never says a rude word, and most important, no penis at all.” I saw both the live show as well as the replayed show and was surprised why the 'P'  word was blanked out in the replay.
