Indian spinners make merry in South Africa!

Wednesday, February 07, 2018

Indian spinners put the Proteas on the mat as India wins the second ODI in South Africa in an one-sided contest to regain pole position in the ICC rankings. Yuzvendra Chahal's brilliant bowling well supported by Kuldeep, had the African batsmen guessing in the Safari land where our boys tamed the host whose performance have dipped south after wins in the first two Test matches of the series. It is great to learn that our country has been producing good bowlers over the years which is good news for the future of Indian cricket. We have the best batting lineup in ODIs and Captain Kohli does lead his boys with example which is the hallmark of a great leader. India should experiment with some members of the U-19 world cup winning team to improve our bench strength so that competition brings out the best from players!

Virat Kohli led his team superbly on a Sunday against South Africa to a 2-0 victory. They dismissed South Africa for a paltry score of 117 and then scored the winning runs. Hero Captain Virat Kohli proved the best of batsman to watch for, every time he walks in to bat. India lost their first wicket and Shikhar Dhavan scored a half century again, two out of two with one not out a fantastic role and partnership understanding solid as a rock of Gibraltar. India played cricket with passion to a 9 wicket victory and the South Africans had no answer. Choked again and the bowlers bowled their heart out to win and comfort comes from a teams strength and dedication to apply well on foreign conditions. A fabulous end to a match saw the team build up hopes of a series win outside Home for the first time. The juniors won in the Under 19 ICC World Cup and become champions with a 8 wicket victory over Down Under and the seniors followed it up with a 9 wicket win. Hats off to both Juniors and Seniors for their masterly devotion; a larger than life moment.
