FAREWELL, CHAMPION

Wednesday, December 06, 2017

Shashi Kapoor, the veteran actor of yesteryear's was always passionate about city of Kolkata and it’s culture. He was born in a small house in Hazra Road. It is here that he met his wife Jennifer Kendal in a hotel. He had excellent relations with some intellectuals, film-makers and artists. With his passing away, we have lost a versatile actor of not only commercial cinema but also of parallel and meaningful cinema. Have we lost the perfect human being in Shashi Kapoor? The so honest, hardworking actor who has always been willing to help others grow, is not with us today. He acted in many films and won accolades for his versatile acting. He played to the gallery and made his presence in multi-starrer film also. He won DadaSaheb Phalke award winner in 2015. He would be most remembered for The Householder (1963) and Shakespeare Wallah (1965). Those are his international films. As well as Sammy and Rosie Get Laid (1987), which was praised a lot by the Western critics. He would also be remembered for all the films in the 60s and 70s where he played the romantic hero with Sharmila Tagore, or movies like Sharmeelee (1971) or Jab Jab Phool Khile (1965). He will be remembered as the beautiful, sensitive actor we all fell in love with. The best of the best of his dialogues was in ''Deewar'' when he enacted the role of a police inspector and challenged the number one hero and his brother in the film 'Hamare Paas Maa hai'. Now. we can sadly say 'Hamare Paas Shashi Thaa'!- R.I.P. Shashi Kapoor.

Indian cinema is forever indebted to the Kapoor family for giving us the brightest stars. Shashi (means Moon) Kapoor steadily grew bigger and bigger and shone brightly among the stars. Only difference is this moon didn't have a waning period. His immortal dialogue "Mere Paas Maa Hai" will be remembered forever.

Apart from many other dialogues - A popular dialogue of Shashi ji in a Bollywood film : Deewar "Mere Paas Maa Hai! was a super hit dialogue of all times. Very saddened and sorry to hear the demise of noted Actor and Producer;  SHASHI KAPOOR. The man was a well known actor and producer with a smart personality and a Repertoire of Indian and International Films. His contribution to Hindi Film industry will always be remembered and cherished forever. I have grown up watching his films and will always remain his big fan. Getting to know of the actor's demise is very disheartening; I felt as if a part of my body has gone. In all his films he normally played a very lively, dashing, romantic and all kinds of roles as a hero & supportive roles making him  a real versatile actor. A very down to earth, handsome, wonderful, jovial, human and ofcourse his sweet and warm smile as always - He also being an excellent Producer of His many Films. In fact, Shashi ji was considered and known as one of the most Handsome Actor / Hero in the Film Industry. He has received the Padma Vibushan Award, DADA SAHEB PHALKE AWARD, FILMFARE AWARD, National Award after a successful tenure of acting in more than 160 films. My heartiest tribute to the par-excellent, enigmatic & a brilliant actor for his versality, Wonderful Producer, The Man Of The Theatre : SHASHI Kapoor sahab As His Contribution Not Only To The Film Industry But Also To The Theatres Cannot Be Forgotten And Will Always Be Remembered And Cherished Forever.
