BCCI, the Board of Cricketing Controversies in India!

Friday, January 06, 2017

BCCI, the Board of Cricketing Controversies in India continues to hog lime light for wrong reasons once again. The board game is almost over after Chief Justice of India sacked BCCI Chief and Secretary for ignoring Lodha fixes and thereby inviting wrath and it is a shame for the elite club of cricketing authorities in India. With the result, the Chiefs of other State Cricket Associations are also resigning one by one following the verdict. The Board members were playing a strategic game and paid heavy price for having ignoring court orders for such a long time just to hold on to power, with conflict of interest in their minds. This brings down the curtain on the Supreme Court's face-off with the BCCI that began in the year 2013, with spot fixing charges that rocked Indian Cricket. The BCCI did not carry out all the reforms despite an order from the Supreme Court Order. BCCI continues to carry on its controversial game and this may not be the end game as the members may file counter to keep their places intact.
