Soulful sight

Saturday, June 30, 2018

An eclectic blend of spiritual and soulful expressions caught your eye as you stepped into Cymroza art gallery at Breach Candy and soaked in the sight of paintings that filled you with a sense of peace and harmony. It was a collaboration of wondrous works by five artists: Neela Shete, Sonali Iyengar, Yashwant Shirwadkar, Houserao Patil and Sunil Sethi. Paintings on Buddha, the Benares temples, Rajasthan forts and much more were on view. The sculptures and artefacts were eye-catching as were the paintings of the various artists. Standing out was Sonali Iyengar’s painting of an elephant. Titled ‘Where do I go from here’ it denoted a question most endangered animals ask humans. Sonali’s vibrant hues and artistic strokes appealed to the guests. The preview evening saw guests like Dr. Hemant Pathare and Nitin Shete feasting their eyes on the artworks and chilling with coolers and hors d’oeuvres.
