Music on the move

Saturday, January 07, 2017

Suddenly, there seems to be a spurt in the number of music festivals. The latest is that the Udaipur World Music Festival supported by Rajasthan Tourism is coming up from February 10 to 12 and will feature as many as 150 artists from over 16 countries including the United Kingdom, Italy, South Africa, Senegal, Canada, Armenia, Turkey, Macedonia, Mozambique, Norway, Iran, Cuba, Switzerland and India. The line-up is an interesting mix of celebrated and rare artists, some performing in India for the very first time like London Community Gospel Choir and Niyaz featuring Nizam Ali. Many Mumbaikars have been making plans to fly to this culturally vibrant destination for their musical fix. The festival will open with a performance by Kocani Orkestar- Balkanic gypsy band from Macedonia and end with festival musical novelties like trance and gospel music and spiritual songs with funk and a reggae twist to the finale.

Aries (Mar 21 - Apr 20)You may want to increase the scope of your work now and this will mean a lot of publicity. It is time that those around you sit up and take note of your skills. Offers from abroad are exciting but do not promise everything that you would want from them. Your fears about the future of your relationship with your beloved could create some insecurity. It may have to do with a change of location. Rest assured that your will get some good news about it soon.
