Fresh fashion came to the fore at the Gen Next show presented by INIFD at Lakmé Fashion Week Summer/Resort 2019 at Jio Garden. Amrapali Singh showcased her ‘Queen of Hearts’ collection which was all about simple, comfort and playful appeal, inspired by the pack of cards. She limited the colour story to red, white and black. Madhumita Nath called her collection ‘Bliss’ with ensembles that were a serene mix of natural, beige, raw white, mocha and soft yellow, all embellished with organic prints. Sunaina Khera named her line ‘A Long Way Home’ that brought together the feelings of mind, body and spirit that revolved around grief. Each garment spoke of an emotion. Ujjwala Bhadu presented a line in vibrant hues, a fusion of cultures and crafts. The ensembles brought together knit pleats, knitted raffia fringe and textures of weaves. And funky oversized trousers were highlighted with red quirky lines.
