In the awards space, the enterprising Sunny Shah, founder of International Human Rights Council, presented the second edition of the Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Nobel Awards at Bhaidas Hall. Professionals in diverse walks of life including lawyers, doctors and film journalists were honoured. The council has over 21,000 members pan-India who look after its social work activities. The noted awardees included Dharmendra, Padmini Kolhapure, Mahima Chaudhry, Dheeraj Kumar, Navin Prabhakar, Rajkumar Santoshi, Sanchit Sakat, Sonal Sonkavde, Udit Narayan and Kumar Sanu. Seen at the awards was Income Tax Commissioner Subachan Ram. And host Sunny Shah had another reason to celebrate as it was his birthday. This paper’s senior film correspondent Chaitanya Padukone was honoured with an award by Mahima Chaudhry and Rajkumar Santoshi for the success of his recent book titled ‘R D BurMania’ while glamour photographer and photographer to the stars Yogen Shah was felicitated for his lens-craft.
