Ethnic appeal

Saturday, August 12, 2017

Known for her affordable luxury fashion, Bhumika Grover came to town with the launch of her stylish store on Waterfield Road in Bandra. Looking lovely was Kiara Advani in a lime yellow kurta and sharara from the designer’s chic collection. On view at the store was ethnic couture in both traditional and contemporary fabrics with exquisite hand embroidery and a splash of mirror work. Lehenga-cholis, shararas, Indian suits, anarkalis, crop-tops that are on trend with an ethnic touch were on display. The hand-crafted embroidery and use of an old forgotten technique by skilled craftsmen caught your eye. It was a collection with a touch of cotton, georgette, chikankari work, lace, silk, brocade, entwined with beautiful borders and embroidery. Also on view was an array of accessories including clutches, drawstrings and elaborately embellished juttis that complemented the creations. And you heard that the well-known designer would shuttle between the capital and Mumbai.
