Dress circle

Tuesday, April 10, 2018

Looking lovely indeed was Sonakshi Sinha, all dressed up in a rose gold and silver hand embroidered sequinned slip halter dress, embellished with striking pink flamingos. She was the shining showstopper for Nandita Mahtani’s show at the recent fashion week at St. Regis. Emanating the glory days of years gone by, the collection was inspired by the swinging 70s. Some stunning A-line dresses and skirts, eye-catching embroidery techniques and contemporary motifs were on view. Blending the modern colour palette with silhouettes from the fashionable era of the last millennium, you felt the garments are precisely what would appeal to the fashion demands of today. Shades like millennial pink, soothing teal, bold nude, colourful stripes and sparkly sequins, paired with quirky motifs like flamingos and chandeliers make for an exciting interplay of colours, textures and varied embellishments. And it was felt that the effortlessly glamorous pieces accentuate all the right curves.
