Choral tribute

Thursday, August 10, 2017

In a first of its kind choral music extravaganza, students from schools across Mumbai have been invited to showcase their western music talent before an audience of their peers and musicians. Bombay Cambridge School (Andheri East) under the helm of principal Savita Venkat in collaboration with Furtados School of Music will present Voices of the World inter-school western choir competition on August 16 to celebrate global diversity through music. Bringing together student choir groups from schools across Mumbai this informal competition is aimed at giving students experience of stage performance outside their own school. Top participating schools include Aditya Birla World Academy, JBCN International Schools and Campion School. Schools have welcomed this opportunity to help students extend their understanding of the nuances of recitals, stage ethics and singing harmonies, apart from getting a platform to demonstrate their prowess in the music arena. Acclaimed musician Merlyn D’Souza will be present at this event.
