Book bonanza

Wednesday, November 08, 2017

Fine wine and Scotch were flowing at Tote on the Turf at the launch of the book ‘A Final Homecoming – The Story of Bhai Pratap: My father and builder of the new Sindh in India’ written by Aruna Jagtiani. Bhai Pratap Dialdas is credited with rehabilitation of Sindhis (from today's Pakistan) who were displaced after the Partition in 1947.  With the guidance and blessings of Mahatma Gandhi, Bhai Pratap set up some of the cities in modern-day Gujarat: Kandla, Gandhidham and Adipur. Guest of honour at this glittering launch was Ram Jethmalani, noted jurist and MP, who gave a perspective of the case that involved Bhai Pratap and his work for rehabilitation of Sindhis. Of course, in his trademark style, he also had some fine observations about modern-day Indian politics. Princess Narendra Kumari of Kutch was present as also guests like Keith Stevenson, Bachi Karkaria, Sabira Merchant and Pheroza Godrej.

Aries (Mar 21 - Apr 20)While work seems to be under control with great possibilities of further improvement the problem seems to be the home front. Developments in family create an air of uncertainty. Elders and youngsters alike may turn to you to find a solution. You have to be impartial considering that you do not approve of the conduct of one of your relatives. Your beloved may also feel a bit low and neglected.
