Saturday, August 12, 2017

Happy faces were seen all around at Tao art gallery as Kapil Dev, chairperson, Khushii and Vivek Khushalani, president, Khushii presented a preview of the India on Canvas auction to be conducted by Sotheby’s at JW Marriott in the capital on September 1. Making her presence felt was Ananya Birla, youth brand ambassador for India on Canvas and Michelle Poonawala who unveiled her signature butterfly painting titled ‘Victory Lead’ to be up on auction with the proceeds going towards charity. Gaurav Bhatia of Sotheby’s, Kalpana Shah of Tao art gallery, Radhika Goenka, Bindu and Roshni Kapoor who have created works for India on Canvas were present. Going back to the beginning, it was in 2003 when Kapil Dev and like-minded people came together to establish Khushii with the purpose of utilising their time to contribute to society. India on Canvas is said to be the largest charity art auction in Asia.
