I shall be completing my BA Economics degree later this year. I am interested in studying Photography at the New York Film Academy. Can you please guide me through their Portfolio requirements?

The Portfolio requirements for MFA Photography program at New York Film Academy is:

  • Photographs (15 maximum), either printed (no larger than 8x10) or jpegs on a CD/DVD (1200 pixels longest side, SRGB, 72dpi), with an accompanying description contextualizing the submission.
  • MFA program candidates must meet the following minimal requirements:
  • Basic proficiency with Mac computers.
  • Understand all aspects of DSLR camera exposure, including equivalent exposures and the balancing of natural/ambient/ constant light with strobes.
  • Prepare to demonstrate proficiency in studio and location strobe systems and pass a practical grip equipment safety test.
  • Display a proficiency with Adobe Lightroom 5 (or equivalent software) and Photoshop CC.
  • Applicants who have not completed a BFA in Photography will be tested via a written and practical test on the above points. Students must be at the L.A. campus to complete the test, which will be given during Orientation week.

My son is currently in Grade XII: PCM stream. He wants to study  Engineering at University of Toronto in Canada. What admission requirements should he consider before applying?

Candidates applying for University of Toronto’s Engineering program who are studying in the Indian education system are required to provide the following certifications in the subjects of Math, Chemistry and Physics at the grade 12 level:

  • All India Senior School Certificate awarded by CBSE or
  • Indian School Certificate (awarded by CISCE) or
  • Year 12 State Board Exams with excellent results
  • Proof of English Facility may be required*

Prerequisite courses should be presented in the 12th year. Candidates may be considered for early admissions based on excellent 10th board examination results, final 11th school grades and predicted grade 12 results from your school.

The English Proficiency results that are required are: International English Language Testing System (IELTS) Academic Module: The minimum requirement is an overall band of 6.5, with no band below 6.0.

The programs related to game study that you may consider are:

  • B.A. in digital media
  • B.A in Animation and Digital Arts
  • B.A in Digital Studies
  • B.A in Game Entrepreneursim
  • B.A in Game Development and Programming
  • B.A in Media Design

Some of the colleges that offer these programs are: SCAD (Savannah College of Art and Design), University of Southern California, Carnegie Mellon University to name a few.
