What is B.Voc? Are there any specializations offered in this course in Mumbai?

Bachelor’s of Vocational program is focused on preparing students to acquire necessary job market skills which will help them gain appropriate employment. It is a course with multiple exits such as Diploma (1 Year)/Advanced Diploma (2 Years) and B.Voc. Degree (3 Years). There are various specialization like software development, Retail management, Travel and Tourism, Travel and Tourism Management, Green House Management and so on. Do note that these specializations are not offered by all colleges.

I am studying in class 11th Science with Physics, Chemistry Biology and Maths as subject combination along with languages. I do not want to pursue Medicine or Engineering. What other options do I have after class 12th?

Other options other than Engineering and Medicine that you can pursue in the field of science are Graduation in Pharmacy, Pure sciences like Biotechnology, Microbiology, Zoology, Life sciences, Physics, Chemistry and so on. You can also pursue other common graduation options like Law, Management, IT, Designing, Mass media and Hotel management. Do note that for some course admission is based on entrance exam for example Law, Designing and Hotel management.

Who and when can one give competitive exams like IAS or IPS? My son is pursuing his SYB.A. from Mumbai University.

Candidates can appear these competitive exams conducted by UPSC after completing their graduation from a recognized university or candidates who have appeared or intend to appear for the final examination and are awaiting results are also eligible to apply for the Preliminary Examination.
