The recently concluded Tilt Shift 2018’s 60 hour film project was nothing short of a glamorous award night

Ramnarain Ruia Autnomous College’s Department of Communication and Media’s Annual BMM fest, Tilt Shift, comes to a spectacular end with the brilliance of the 60 hour film project.

The 60 hour film project is the flagship event of Tilt Shift and has been so ever since its commencement two years ago. Blending in the fest’s theme, Paroxysin, the participants were supposed to use a combination of an emotion and sin which was given to them and they were to create something absolutely unique and out of the box. This year, the event was bigger and better than ever before with more than 30 teams participating for the event making it an absolute success. For shortlisting the films, the college brought in Max Rahman who was the line producer of TVF’s web series, Bisht Please. He has also done prolific work forFilmfare, Centre Fresh, Zara, IPL, and many more companies and shows. And with that, it was narrowed down to 10 best entries that were to be showcased on the day of the fest.

The film project took place on the second day of the fest, i.e., 19th January and saw a jam packed auditorium as its response. And why not, the immense amount of talent that was not only going to be showcased but that was also present there, made the event worth the wait.

For judging the final entries, four judges were present on the panel – Amol Shetge, a director and writer, known for the films Rain: The Terror (2005) and Kabhi Kahin (2008); Vinod Ganatra, a filmmaker, is the recipient of the prestigious The Liv Ullman Peace Prize, Chicago for his film Harun Arun and he is also the recipient of the Dadasaheb Phalke Lifetime Achievement Award conferred by ‘The Association of Film & Video Editors’. He has several National and International awards to his credit; Tanuj Virwani who is a model and actor known for his works in films such as Luv U Soniyo and One Night Stand, but he rose to prominence and popularity with his work in the Amazon Original Series, Inside Edge; and lastly, Girish Narayandass who is the head writer at YouTube sensation All India Bakchod (AIB) and has directed many of their viral sketches and videos which have created a mark amongst our youth. The judges has an absolute task deciding the winners as the films were of such great quality that it became incredibly difficult for anyone present to think of a favourite.

The ten films that were shown had such depth and immense skills involved, making this year’s films the best to be shown at any 60 hour film project ever. However difficult choosing a winner may have been, the judges finally came to a conclusion declaring the film, Bhasmya which was about a father’s inability to provide everything to his family and as a result he proved to be a road block to their happiness as the winner. The film that came second was a film called Padmavati which was about suppressing an artist’s freedom and the film that was declared third was a film called Revers Mode which was about three friends’ decision of stealing money from a beggar for their daaru party and what follows after.

With the glorious talent showcased and that were present on the panel, the 60 hour film project was definitely a remarkable event!
