War not poll in Karnataka

Friday, January 12, 2018

CHIEF Minister Siddaramaiah of Karnataka appears to be very upset. When BJP's Amit Shah came to Karnataka and gave what seemed to be a poll speech, the chief minister said "We have zero tolerance for Hindu terror". He described BJP folks as terrorists. Later on after a few hours, he dropped the word "terrorist" and used a milder term. It is clear the BJP will be calling the EC several times during the poll time in the state. The chief minister appears to think that no one from any other political party can say anything about the Congress. Both the BJP and the Congress are keen about the assembly elections in Karnataka. For Rahul, it is very important because it is being held after he became the president of the party. He wants to make good at least in Karnataka and get back at least some of his prestige. Chief Minister Siddaramaiah has done a lot for his party and he appears to be certain he can make it. It is to be seen what hold the party has on the people of the state.

It will be a big challenge to president of the BJP Amit Shah and prime minister. The BJP is certain that the magic of the prime minister will sweep the state. The party is certain that the party will be under the PM's magic. Already Amit Shah has held a poll meeting: there was good attendance. Like in other places, there is likely to be huge crowds. Siddaramaiah is doing his best to adversely influence the masses but he is himself not so popular as the prime minister.

As much as 65 per cent is now under the BJP rule and Karnataka will help bring the BJP a good deal more. The Congress wil fare better in Karnataka than anywhere else.
