One-on-one fight in 2019

Tuesday, June 12, 2018

A big plan to defeat the BJP and win elections next year has been made by the opposition parties. They call it Mission 400. The 2019 strategy has been put up by Bengal's Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee. The plan is to put up only 400 candidates to contest the poll. It is a one-on-one move. It is described as a 'Mahagathbandhan' mission. The plan is to link all opposition parties and select about 400 candidates for the elections. The move is by all opposition parties. It is against Narendra Modi. The total seats in Parliament is 543. The effort is to ensure that 400 seats are won by the opposition. The opposition will select and put up candidates. The opposition votes will not be divided. They will all go to the unanimously chosen opposition candidate. To win, the opposition will require only 274 seats.

S. Yechury, Maya, Mamata Banerjee, Ghulam Nabi Azad and a few others are working on the plan. The BJP has dismissed the grand alliance as a big joke. While the opposition is dead certain of success, the BJP does not think much about the 'Mahagathbandhan'.

It is reported cracks have already appeared in the plan. There has been differences among parties in Uttar Pradesh. If, however, the opposition parties stay together the chance of success is bright.
