EVER since he got huge mass support and became the chief minister of Delhi, Arvind Kejriwal seems to have gained huge self confidence and begun to entertain the belief he could make a mark elsewhere in the country. His guru Anna Hazare told him he was no different from other politicians as he also had begun to chase political power.
Since then, he participated in Lok Sabha elections and also contested assembly elections. His latest misadventure was in Punjab where his party was trounced. And his reaction? I am shocked! He expected to win perhaps by a big margin. He proceeded to analyse how it happened: He suspected corrupt electoral practices were employed. There was something wrong with the way the election was held. Some of those contesting the elections used unfair methods.
He has experienced nothing but rout after rout since his big victory in Delhi. He should have been content with his success in Delhi. People were fed up with Congress rule. And lakhs came out and supported him. Some thought must have crept into his mind: He is a national leader.
His performance in Delhi has been far from good. He has been steadily losing his popularity. people have started seeing through him. In his party, people have found out, there are rapists, fraudulent persons and cheats. He is clean of course, but he appears to be power crazy. It is time he came to terms with reality and keeps his feet firmly on the ground and look out.
