Farooq Abdullah - a nowhere man

Thursday, December 07, 2017

AT the centre of Srinagar at Lal Chowk, the Indian tricolour is proudly flying. Patriots have hoisted the flag. There are quite  a few who stayed away from the flag-hoisting ceremony. The Indian government does not take any action against them. Not only do they recognise the flag, but also they say they are not Indians. Does Farooq Abdullah say he is not an Indian? Where does Farooq belong? He was a few years ago in the Indian governmnet, holding an important job. He was staying in Delhi at the time. Back in Kashmir, he was against the Indian government. He has been on good terms with Pakistna. Now he is closer to Pakistan than ever before. Kashmir should be regarded as a disputed territory. He seems to be giving now more sympathy and support to Pakistan than to India. Today, he would rather have Kashmir in Pakistan than in India. He is not happy that India considers Kashmir as part of India. Today, he would like Kashmir to be part of Pakistan.

Farooq Abdullah is an opportunist. The door from India is closed to him. He is clearly with Pakistan now. India has to completely forget him. He can no longer be regarded as being a friend of India.

Farooq Abdullah can be expected to fight to be somebody. He is a survivor. He has the gift of the gab. It is to be seen finally where he will end up.

Aries (Mar 21 - Apr 20)You will be impulsive today, and this may throw up unexpected results. In a rush of enthusiasm, you may finish pending work and even be left with enough time to plan long-term goals. You may also realise and make amends for your past mistakes, says Ganesha.
