End of N. Korean nuclear madness?

Monday, March 12, 2018

North Korea seems to have finally realised that its nuclear threats are not frightening the world. It has warned even the United States it could drop a nuclear weapon over it. It had claimed distance was no problem.

It had similar dialogue with South Korea. In fact, it was its recent talks with South Korea that it came to hold the view that it would have talks with the United States also. The North Korea chief  has made it known to Donald Trump he would like to have talks with him on the nuclear issue Trump did not show much interest but he has not rejected them. He regards this as a possibly good development.

He has not rejected the offer for talks but he will wait and watch. What is clear, however is that Trump wants the issue to be settled. Trump does not want all the time to be facing a nuclear threat. A lot of diplomatic work must have been done with the United States over the issue. Behind North Korea's dialogue move must have been China as well as South Korea.

China evidently does not want nuclear madness. The United States will welcome the happening: Sooner or later, North and South Korea will work together along with the United States.
