THE BJP has won the trust vote in the Goa assembly. The floor test was made yesterday and chief minister Manohar Parrikar had the majority members. The CM had 22 members on his side. In his party now are 3 GFP, 3MGP and 1 NCP member. A Congress member did not vote. Congress member Vishwajit said he was disgusted and did not want to take part in the floor test. He also said he may resign. Rumblings are being heard in the Goa Congress. They say that they missed a chance to rule Goa. And Rahul Gandhi is saying that the BJP had adopted unfair tactics. It was a clear case of “stealing” he said. He also stated that money power must have been used by the BJP to get Independents and small parties to its side.
Manohar Parrikar has dismissed all these allegations and declared what he did was constitutional. There was nothing wrong in his seeking other people’s support in order to form the government.
Manohar Parrikar who was the former Union defence minister is a strong leader. He cannot be unaware that the Congress will keep trying to remove him and evidently he knows how to deal with the situation. With an able and experienced man like Manohar Parrikar as the head of the government, Goa gets a good chance to grow.
