The new chief minister of Uttar Pradesh does not seem to be a cent per cent exponent of Hindutva. Yogi Adityanath is not a fanatic. He appears to be a realist. He was the head of a temple but he has also all modern age qualifications. His dress however is that of a yogi. And he has been the choice of prime minister Modi and BJP's president Shah who want a leader in Uttar Pradesh that can bring different sections like Muslims and Dalits together.
It is certain this yogi will make a bid to solve the Babri masjid problem in Ayodhya. Under Adityanath rule, the Muslims will be comfortable. There will not be furious rivalry between Hindus and Muslims. They are all together now with Hindus in Uttar Pradesh and hence it should be possible to get an Ayodhya solution. Ayodhya problem must have been one of the reasons for the choice of yogi Adityanath as the chief minister.
It can be expected that the yogi chief minister will make all possible efforts to produce a warm and cooperative link among all the communities. He wants to pave the way for development of the state. In the next few days, it can be expected, there will be some announcements about plans for “vikas” and also schemes for assistance to farmers. And in no time at all, the yogi chief minister is likely to take up the Ayodhya issue. With a huge majority, the BJP can bring development and peace in Uttar Pradesh.
