Ban Padmavat

Saturday, January 13, 2018

THERE was no need to have put a ban on Bhansali directed film Padmavathi. The film's name has been changed. It is now known as Padmavat. The beauty changes all the beauty of the Chittor queen. And three or four changes: and they have all made the film ugly. There is an opinion and it is strong and justified the censored film has taken away the film's attractions.

There is still fear the film will be attacked. Thousands in all states do not want the film. Rani Padmini belongs to all India. No wonder people do not want it to be shown with all its glory taken away. The Rani was brave and beautiful and honoured by very Indian.

Of course the name of the film must not have been changed. desperately perhaps, Maharashtra, Rajasthan have banned the film. They are afraid of Karni Sena. The abuses hurled by those who  were deadly against the film. They said they will cut off the nose of heroine Deepika and beat the director Bhansali to death. Rani Padmini will be judged by the filmgoers  of today. There is however no hope now - just ten days more in Mumbai. Let there be peace on the inaugural day on 25th January.
