Attacking country while abroad

Wednesday, January 10, 2018

Wherever they go abroad, some political leaders malign our country. They slam the government of India and show up and declare a long list of its harmful policies and performances. Not all of them do it but those who do spoil the reputation of our country. There is an unwritten agreement among politicians that when abroad, they should be discreet and say nothing that brings down the reputation of our country. It is not known what gain they get by saying mean things about their own country and government.

And when the maligning is done by a top personality of the opposition, the harm is more. Rahul Gandhi, president of the Congress said heavily objectionable things about the Indian government when he was abroad yesterday.

He evidently did not realise that the criticism he made would also touch him. The opposition should observe silence and say nothing about their country while abroad. They should realise when they attack their own country, they are also involved.

There are many Congress leaders who talk badly about our country abroad.

Rahul Gandhi, Mani Shankar Aiyar do this frequently. The BJP must take up this issue with their opponents and take up the challenge.
