After a long time comes a country western flick that promises to take you back to the classic dramas of the 1970s and give a little modern touch.

Revenge is deep in the hearts of Texan brothers Toby (Chris Pine) and Tanner (Ben Foster), who have been pulling off bank heists in order to right a wrong perpetrated on their mother and in large their entire family. They want to target all the banks in Texas to bring in enough cash to pay off a loan that is on their head. Toby and Tanner rely more on luck and determination than strategic planning to execute their robberies. You suddenly find Tanner seated in a restaurant having breakfast, while his brother has taken a load of cash and heading for a speedy getaway. Infact the brothers are so bold that they rob from the very banks to whom they’re indebted. But it isn’t long before the law starts to take notice of the sudden spate of robberies in the area.

Only days away from retirement Texas Ranger Marcus (Jeff Bridges) and his partner, Alberto (Gil Birmingham), resolve to spend as long as it takes to track the robbers down and bring them to justice.

As the brothers plot a final bank heist to complete their scheme, the Rangers close in on them and it’s the end of the road for the bank robbers. But thankfully by now, the duo have repaid their loan, got their family well heeled and have saved enough for a rainy day. The duo has enough of cash to splash on the casino and on some lovely ladies too.

‘You can run, but you can’t hide’ goes the famous adage. In the end, it’s the classic cat and mouse tale, right down to the eventual showdown between the brothers and the Ranger, who refuse to go quietly into the night. We do feel sorry for the bank robbers, but then some stories have good and bad endings.
