Tara Alisha Berry is practising gratitude

Monday, March 12, 2018

Young actor Tara Alisha Berry (a.k.a Taasha for those close to her), who’s recognised for her work in Bollywood and Telugu cinema, will be seen next in Viu’s web series ‘Love, Lust and Confusion’ premiering this week. In it, she plays the part of Poroma, a young girl who moves to Mumbai and goes through various experiences and records them in her journal. Says Taasha about playing Poroma: “The amazing part was how the character develops and grows through the experiences she has. Poroma’s journey of self-exploration is depicted very organically on film and it was a wonderful opportunity to play her.”  Incidentally, Taasha is most recognised for her roles in Anurag Basu’s telefilm ‘Chokher Bali’ (2015) where she played the character of Ashalata and for the character of Alisha Asthana in the Vikram Bhatt film ‘Love Games’ (2016). We ask her who the actors she most admires are. To which she replies: “I’ve been watching the series ‘Outlander’ and I think the lead actress Catriona Balfe is outstanding. I’m also an admirer of Woody Harrelson and I thought that he was quite amazing in ‘True Detective’.” And what is this young lady’s woman’s motto in real life? “It’s the practice of gratitude. I’m starting to count my blessings for everything in my life – whether it’s the ability to spend time with my family or even to have a cup of tea. I’m grateful for all the opportunities, big and small, that just being alive offers,” says Taasha.
