In the light of the mindless violence against women (and others) in our country and the world, here’s a quote from Japanese Buddhist philosopher Daisaku Ikeda, whose spiritual organisation preaches peace and non-violence, and has 15 million followers in 192 countries and territories around the world today. Says Ikeda, “The real struggle of the 21st century will not be between civilisations, nor between religions. It will be between violence and non-violence. It will be between barbarity and civilisation in the truest sense of the word.”
