Rashmi Uday Singh goes stratospheric

Wednesday, February 14, 2018

Our favourite foodie Rashmi Uday Singh, works harder than most, so when we heard that she was in the food capital of the world, Paris, having the time of her life, we were naturally thrilled. As she related to us, she’s there to research her forthcoming TV show. While in Paris, she says, it was a bonus for her to be invited to the prestigious Michelin Guide awards which is pretty much the Oscars of the food industry. She was also part of the Grand Table du Monde (a collection of the world’s gastronomic restaurants) awards and stayed at three of the French capital’s most iconic hotels – Hotel du Crillon, the Ritz and the luxurious Plaza Athenee (where the TV show ‘Sex and the City’ and the film ‘The Devil Wears Prada’, among others, were filmed). Says this normally down-to-earth lady: “Taking a salsa lesson, dashing for lunch to Brussels to the two-star Michelin restaurant Bon Bon, was all part of the magic of Paris.” She’ll soon be driving northeast to the Champagne district over a 100km away “to get high on the history, beauty and romance of champagne” so that she can communicate it to her Indian audiences. Way to go, lady!
