Priyanka Chopra stuns at Met Gala in NY

Wednesday, May 09, 2018

Priyanka Chopra appeared at the New York-based Met Gala on Monday evening looking, literally, like a million bucks. Dressed in a Ralph Lauren red velvet gown and a jewelled hood, the latter, we hear, took 250 hours to hand bead. The ornate piece was made of red Swarovski crystals and gold beading and was very much in keeping with this year’s Met theme of ‘Heavenly Bodies: Fashion and the Catholic Imagination’. Incidentally, the Met Gala also known as the Met Ball is an annual fundraising gala for the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s Costume Institute in the New York City. It marks the grand opening of the Costume Institute’s annual fashion exhibit. This year’s edition saw singer Katy Perry wearing oversized angel wings in honour of the theme. While Rihanna wore a papal-inspired gown, other attendees in extravagant outfits included ‘Vogue’ editor Anna Wintour, Amal Clooney who anchored the evening, Princess Beatrice of Britain, actresses Frances McDormand and Anne Hathaway and model Gisele Bundchen, among others. Definitely an evening for A-listers to make their appearance.
