Life lessons from Pooja Bedi

Wednesday, July 11, 2018

The lovely Pooja Bedi is scheduled to hold two life skills workshops over the weekend at Dinesh Khanna’s ‘The Club’ in Juhu-Andheri. The first on Friday, 13 July is ‘Embrace Yourself’ a workshop for women on the art of personal transformation and developing happy relationships. The other, on Saturday 14 July, ‘Teenage Triumph’, is a course for teenagers to help them develop self-esteem and a sense of responsibility. Pooja has made the transition from being an actor and a model to being a life coach with relative ease thanks to the fact that her grandfather, Baba Bedi, was a healer and her grandmother, Freda Bedi, was a Buddhist nun. Says Pooja: “I’m a child of the Universe. I have Sikh, Hindu, Parsi, Muslim and British blood in me through marriage and thanks to my ancestors who came from different lineages. Over the last eight years while writing a newspaper column advising people on relationships, I was intrigued enough by the queries the column generated to begin exploring the various dimensions that human beings are impacted by.” Pooja subsequently explored disciplines like Neuro Linguistic Programming (NLP), behavioural studies, quantum physics (in relation to individual energies) as well as the laws of attraction and manifestation. She has been running her modules throughout the country since 2016 and is also a certified life coach. As she says of her workshop for teenagers: “Kids nowadays urgently need to be taught life-skills. There’s so much pressure on them from various quarters that they need to be taught just how to cope. This is the first time I’m launching a module for teenagers and it will cover self-discipline, time management, memory skills and well as skills on how they can present themselves in their environments, among other things.”
