Karan Johar reviews Varun Dhawan's 'October'

Friday, April 13, 2018

It seems that Varun Dhawan’s father, David, and filmmaker Karan Johar attended a preview of the much-anticipated film October directed by Shoojit Sircar a few days ago (the film releases today). While Varun tweeted to the effect: “I was all nerves as my dad and Karan as well as Shashank Khaitan saw October…”, Karan Johar has pronounced his verdict on the film. Karan later tweeted: “October is absolutely beautiful…just beautiful…sucks you into its world and absorbs you completely. I felt like I was standing there with the characters and feeling their every beat and emotion…Varun Dhawan as Dan is a character I have never met at the movies before! Flawed but so real and so intuitively heartful. By the end of the movie you root for him with a heavy heart. Undoubtedly his best work to date.” Adding a commendation for the female’s leads in the film, Karan posted: “Banita Sandhu is so, so lovely! Her stillness and silence speak volumes! She has a striking and supremely heartening presence! Welcome to the movies! Huge mention to Gitanjali Rao for her brilliant performance!” Guess that’s what we would call a rave review! We shall, however, await the audience verdict on the film.
